Georgette Catherine Polak (Robb), age 88, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 27, 1938, in Slovan, Pennsylvania, and built a life rooted in family, faith, resilience, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Georgette was preceded in death by her parents, Laura and Michael Robb; her sister, Michelle “Bambie” Robb; her daughter, Debbie Jennings; her grandchildren, Ashley Polak and Codi Alexander; and her great-grandchild, Penelope Ott.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Waclaw J. Polak; her children, Michael (Jeannie) Polak, Laurel (David) Lindsay, Lisa (Bruce) Alexander, and Christine Polak; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, who were the source of great joy and pride throughout her life; and her sister, Shirley (George) Cole.
Georgette was proud of her family and dedicated much of her life to caring for those she loved, raising her children and later helping care for many of her grandchildren. She was a woman of quiet strength and remarkable resilience. Street smart and practical, she approached life with determination, common sense, and an unwavering commitment to her family. A great cook who loved to bake, she also enjoyed playing cards, traveling, shopping, and reading. Fiercely loyal and dependable, she was someone others could count on without hesitation. Bold and direct, she often offered advice whether it was sought or not because she believed that love sometimes meant saying the hard things. A teacher by nature, she listened, protected, encouraged, and gave of herself generously. Beneath her strong exterior was a woman who wanted nothing more than to love and be loved by her family.
Nothing brought Georgette greater happiness than watching her family grow through the generations. Her legacy lives on in the strength of her family, in the values she instilled, and in the countless acts of love, loyalty, and devotion that defined who she was.
