Herbert James Thompson, 73, of Johnstown, Ohio passed away Friday, December 8, 2023 in Newark, Ohio. He was born June 6, 1950 in Franklin, Indiana to the late Mary Jane and Herbert George Thompson. Herbert was a veteran of United States Army. He worked hard as an upholsterer with Custom Coach, and in his free time he’d enjoy fishing, going camping, and watching sporting events. Herbert is survived by his children, Cody Thompson of Johnstown and Sonya Thompson; sisters Nancy Baughman of Johnstown and Mary Jane Kuehner of Mt. Vernon; ex-wife, Maria Poulton; many cousins; and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his brother Michael Thompson; and sisters, Linda Elmore and Jane Piper.
