

Jack William Clem, age 83 went to be with his Lord and Savior July 28. Jack was born on June 23, 1930 on Benner Rd in Johnstown, Ohio to Guy E and Nellie M. Clem. Brought into this world by Dr. Cross of Johnstown at a cost of $15.00, Jack always said “I am not sure if I was really worth that much.” Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years Rose Marie Nesbitt of Utica, OH, a daughter Leeann (Rick) Stephens of Westerville, son Jeffrey W. Clem of Denver Colorado, grandchildren Wendy (Andrew) Lemon, Brittany Stephens, Shannon (Dan) Johnson, Casey (Zac) Robinson, Garrett Clem, Aaron Stephens and Jason Stephens. Great grandchildren Zoe Lemon, Cole and Mannah Johnson. Jack was preceded in death by his son Steve in 1978, parents Guy E. and Nellie Compton Clem, Sisters Loris E. Clem, Inez (George) McNemar, and his brother James C. (Jane) Clem.
Jack spent 36 years with the Ohio National Guard with active duty from 1951 to 1953 with the 37th Infantry Division and then in the Guard until 1986. He was shop chief for OMS 19 for 25 years and retired as CW4. Jack was Past President of the Johnstown Lions Club, Johnstown American Legion Post 254, and a member of the Croton Church of Christ.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday July 31 at the Crouse Kauber Sammons Funeral Home in Johnstown and a Celebration of Life will take place at the funeral home on Thursday August 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM. with Pastor Dan Hamilton officiating. Interment will be held at the Hartford Cemetery with military honors by the Licking County Veteran’s Alliance. There will be an online Memorial at www.cksammons.com. Friends may, if they wish, contribute to the Church of Christ in Croton or the Hospice of Central Ohio in Jack’s memory.
