Janice "Jan" Marie Rafter

Janice “Jan” Marie Rafter, 77, of Pataskala, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born on May 14, 1948, in Newark, Ohio to the late Pauline (Mikesell) and Ernest Kreager.

Jan was a proud member of the 1966 class from Northridge High School and went on to graduate with a bachelor's degree in commercial arts in 1971 from Columbus College of Art and Design. She went on to have a successful career in commercial art, spanning over 40 years, ending at Conrad Phillips and Vutech Enterprises.

Jan loved to share her wild adventures and childhood stories of growing up on her family farm. Following Jan’s retirement, she loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Jan is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, George Rafter; children, Jennifer (Frank) Aransky, Richard (Julie) Rafter, and Douglas Rafter; grandchildren, Frankie, Brooklyn, Aubrey, and Bodhi Aransky; siblings, Frank Kreager and Margaret Ford; furry friend, Benson;nieces and nephews; and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.

Family and friends may call from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Crouse-Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home, 225 N. Main St. Johnstown, OH, 43031. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the funeral home. A graveside service is to follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
