HALL, Joan, 87 , formerly of Sylvania, OH, and Geneva, IL, died on November 13, 2013 at Rehab Center of Gahanna. She was born on April 27, 1926 in Toledo, and grew up on the old Webb family farm in Sylvania. Joan is survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Leslie and Don Emmerling of Johnstown, Beth Hall of Columbus; Special cousin Ruth Ansell of Avon Lake; and best friend and caregiver, Rebecca McPheters of Croton. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Robert C. Hall, and mother, Inez Webb. Joan was a 1947 graduate of the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing; she retired from the Illinois State Training School for Girls in Geneva, where she had been the head nurse. She was never more confident and proud than when she had on her nurse’s uniform. Joan loved Republican politics and her animals; she disliked hypocrisy and anyone telling her what to do. There will be a graveside ceremony led by Sean Fitzpatrick at Concord Cemetery in Johnstown at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013. Arrangements by CROUSE-KAUBER-SAMMONS FUNERAL HOME.
