

St. Ann’s Hospital. She was born on March 21, 1930, in Johnstown, OH,
a daughter to the late Ford and Flossie Needels. Joan is survived by
her loving husband, Gene; daughters, Barbara, Laura (David Holland),
Madeline Ashbrook; grandchildren, Joseph (Jennifer) Robertson, Leah
and Rachel Holland; great grandchildren, Hillary, Grace, Ava, and Noah
Robertson; children of Gene, Deborah (Ronald) Brooks, Patricia (Dave)
Robinson, Claudia Shellenbarger, Cliff (Cheri) Shellenbarger, and
Kimberly (Stan) Williams; sister Barbara Kelley; numerous nieces and
nephews. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Esther Hughes,
Marjorie Gribbin, Jeanette Williamson, and Robert Needels. Friends
may call at CROUSE-KAUBER-SAMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 225 N.
Main St., Johnstown, on Monday, December 23, 2013 from 1:00 p.m.
until time of service at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Heckathorn officiating.
Private interment will be on Thursday, December 26, 2013, at Green
Hill Cemetery. We will always remember Joan's gifts as a caregiver.
Joan devoted love and skill to ensuring her family's well-being, and
as a registered nurse with geriatric specialty, was committed to
helping the elderly live and die with dignity. Memorial contributions
