John Henry Grunkemeyer

John Henry Grunkemeyer, 78, of Westerville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware, Ohio. He was born on January 30, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Charles Robert and Rosetta Evelyn Grunkemeyer. John graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School in 1965. He was a proud honorably discharged veteran and served in the United States Army. John retired after many hardworking years from Worthington Foods (Kellogg’s). He was an avid golfer, bowler, fisherman, pickleball player, and enjoyed spending time outdoors. John truly cherished all the time he had with his beloved family and friends, all who will miss him deeply. He is survived by his loving children, Jason (Jennifer) Grunkemeyer and Jill (Steve) Webb; grandchildren, Katie and Eli Grunkemeyer, and Tyler Webb; brothers, Jim (Bette) and Jerry Grunkemeyer; many nieces and nephews; family he held deep in his heart, Clara Grunkemeyer, Ronda (Al) Frey, Kellie (Jill) Adkins, Zachary Frey, Sarah Frey, Silas and Judah DePerow; and many longtime family and friends. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in passing by his brother, Charles “Chuck” Grunkemeyer. Family and friends may call from 4:00-8:00pm Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Crouse-Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Crouse-Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home, with Father P.J. Brandimarti officiating. Burial is to immediately follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Johnstown, Ohio.
