John M. (Jack) Walsh of Pataskala and Johnstown area. Born February 14, 1927. John left to be with his Lord on April 14, 2021. John leaves behind his son Jeffrey Walsh of Croton, Ohio; daughter Susan and husband Chris McDiarmid of Granville, Ohio; stepsons Robert Dodel of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Tom Dodel of New Albany, Ohio; stepdaughters Rose Karr of Powell, Ohio and Bertha Smith and husband Brandon of Carey, North Carolina; sister Emma Jean Shuck of New Plymouth, Ohio; sister-in-law Deborah Harper of West Portsmouth, Ohio; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several cousins; many nieces and nephews; and many friends all over Ohio. He is preceded in death by his first wife Donna Joy Harper Walsh, second wife Lucia Dodel Walsh, daughter Kathleen Ann Walsh, son John Marshall Walsh, and sister Marjorie Alexander. John was a 65+ year member of Columbus Carpenter’s Local #200, charter member of Ascension Knights of Columbus, Council 4324 of Johnstown, Ohio, and a paid up for life member of Johnstown American Legion Post #254. John served in the U.S. Coast Guard in WWII in the European Theater aboard the USS Gen W.P. Richardson, AP 118, the USS C.H. Muir, and AP 142. John always enjoyed doing odd jobs for the Church of the Ascension and for the less fortunate in the community of Johnstown, and for his family and friends. Family and friends may call from 4-8 pm Monday, April 19, 2021 at Crouse-Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home 225 N. Main St. Johnstown, Ohio 43031. A funeral mass will be held at 10 am Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Church of the Ascension Johnstown, Ohio, with a burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
