Kenneth lived a life of service, family, and community. He served as a medic in the U.S. Air Force National Guard and Reserves and later as a paramedic with the Kirkersville Fire Department, always putting others first. His dedication to helping others extended through decades of volunteering with 4-H and the Licking County 4-H Band, where he served as an advisor and mentor to countless young people throughout Licking County.
Kenneth was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wives, Nannie Horton Peterman (1989) and Louise Catherine Clapsaddle-Peterman (2021); daughters Jeanine Joy Peterman, Alice Diann Peterman, and Deborah Simpson; granddaughter Holly Cain; his parents, Walter and Alice (Weekley) Peterman; and his siblings Walter (Jean) Peterman, Barbara (Dwight) Hall, Ruth (Charles) Bemiller, and Wilma (Jenoah) LaRue.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth Peterman II, Sandra (Stan) Wilson, Teressa (Craig) Morris, Glenn (Barb) Clapsaddle, David Simpson, and Gregg (JoAnn) Clapsaddle; his grandchildren Sarah (Zach) Gray, Virginia (Gary) Watson, Tiffani Peterman (Corey Stewart), Dillon (Jenay) Peterman, Wyatt (Breanna) Moore, Emily Moore (Zac Davis), Pat (Marie) Simpson, Shawn Cain, Stacey Titus, Lisa (Mike) Long, and Logan Fraize Morris; and many beloved great-grandchildren.
Beyond his service and devotion to family, Kenneth enjoyed the simple joys of life: golfing with friends, bowling, fishing, and playing cards. He had a warm smile, a ready laugh, and a quiet way of making everyone around him feel valued. Kenneth’s kindness, humor, and devotion to his family and community leave a lasting legacy that will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
