Born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and raised in Johnstown, Lee was the beloved son of Tina and “Basil the Greek” Mozakis. A proud graduate of Columbus Academy, he went on to earn both his B.A. in Economics and his Juris Doctorate from Capital University.
Lee began his legal career in Columbus before moving to New York City in 2007, where his journey continued—both professionally and personally. It was there that he met his life partner, Melissa. Together, they built a life in downtown Manhattan before settling in Weston, Connecticut in 2020. Their greatest joys arrived with the births of their two daughters: Millie Rose in 2022 and Maren Grace in 2024.
Lee was a sharp legal mind, a devoted son, partner & father, and a loyal friend to many. His wit was quick, his intellect boundless, and his heart generous. He had a wonderful and infectious laugh that everyone will remember. He was an insatiable reader, a lover of long walks and global travel, whiskey & a good cigar, and a bold unofficial food critic. Above all, he brought warmth, humor, and depth to every room he entered.
He is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his mother, Tina Mozakis; his partner, Melissa Lawrence; his treasured daughters, Millie & Maren Lawrence-Mozakis and his entire family & close friends.
Services were held on Friday, June 27, 2025. The family appreciates your care and support during this difficult time. Memorial donations to honor Lee can be made to his daughters’ education fund through the link below.
