Linda Gene (Tuttle) Smith, age 70, of Johnstown, Ohio passed away on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. She was born on May 9, 1951, in Spring Grove, Indiana to the late Granville and Lena (Hoskins) Tuttle Sr. She grew up in Blacklick, Ohio with her family until she married and moved to Johnstown in the late 70’s. Linda worked at Hub Plastics located right across the street from her childhood home. She worked there for 19 years until 2001.
When her children were young adults, Linda loved going bowling with them and their friends. She enjoyed sitting around and playing board games for hours or playing round after round of Skip-Bo with her daughter late into the night. She loved crocheting and made many blankets, dolls, and other various items throughout the years until she was no longer able to do so. She liked doing crosswords, wordsearches, and playing Solitaire. The old black & white movies and Sci-fi thrillers were her favorite, and you could always find her reading either a romance or mystery novel. When visiting Linda, you always brought her an iced coffee from McDonalds, and it made her day if you also brought her fudge or no-bake cookies.
Linda loved her family and often prayed for them because she was a believer in God. She was the epitome of unconditional love. She was selfless and would do the best that she could to help if someone she knew was in need and expected nothing in return. She asked for so little but deserved the whole world. She will always be loved, never forgotten, and forever missed.
Linda is survived by her husband of 44 years, Stanley E. Smith Sr.; son, Eddie (Jen) Smith; daughter, Robin (Josh) Burton; grandchildren, Brett, Ethan, Owen, and Ava; a brother, Gerald (Susie) Tuttle; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Granville Tuttle Jr. and Glen Tuttle.
A celebration of life for Linda will be held at a later date. In memory of her, go buy an iced coffee.
