
Margaret Roberts, 96 of Croton, passed away at Country View of Sunbury on Thursday, September 29, 2011. Born on April 24, 1915 in Cheshire, OH to the late Lawrence and Barbara (Ables) Rife. Margaret graduated from Capital University, School of Music, and later went back to school and received a Bachelors degree to teach 4th grade, within the Northridge Schools District. Margaret enjoyed playing the piano and used her remarkable talent to teach many students over the years. She was a member of the Croton United Methodist Church where she served as the Organist for over 25 years. During that time, Margaret played for most weddings at the church. She was a past member of the Croton Garden Club and the Croton Research Club. Margaret loved to travel (spending winters in the Florida Keys) and spending time with her family.
Margaret is survived by her loving daughter Barbara (Carl) Redd, two grandchildren Steven Combs and Susan (Greg) Jordan, 4 great granddaughters Ashley (Dana) Edmonds, Brittany Combs, Ericka Stauffer and Kristi Jordan, a niece and a nephew. Preceeded in death by husband Harry Russell Roberts, Sr., son Harry Roberts, Jr. and a sister Jessie Smith. Friends may call at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, OH on Sunday, October 2, 2011 from 2 to 4pm and on Monday at the Croton United Methodist Church, 75 N. High St., Croton Ohio 43013 from 10 until time of service at 11am with Pastor Eva Marie Wolfe officiating.
