Melissa and Todd and family,
Sorry to hear about your loss of your mom. She was quite a lady and always so proud of you two. She was always congenial and friendly to me. May you enjoy all but pleasant memories of her that have come from so many who knew her well. Blessings on all of you. Terry Priest.

Aunt Marie was always thoughtful and caring. Her greeting cards along with notes, letters and phone calls would serve to keep us updated and to let us know that she was thinking about us.

I am especially grateful to her and Dick for offering a loan that, along with my parents, afforded me to attend Penn State. While there I helped them occasionally and even sat for Melissa when they needed a break. Later as Todd out grew his clothes, many were shared and worn by our guys.

We'll forever remember Marie's kindness and her unique laugh.

In Loving Memory,
Your Nephew Barry and Linda Oswald

So many wonderful memories filled with fun and laughter.
Marie was a perfect tour guide and hostess whenever a group of us traveled to Ohio. We enjoyed Amish foods and sights, factory tours, Kentucky Derby country and Pumpkin Festivals, and of course just sharing the good times of traveling together.
We always wished Marie and her family were not so far away so we could see them more often. But the frequent phone calls were a welcome substitute. Marie would always need to call during Penn State football season to find out how the team was doing as all she could hear about was their rival Ohio State. She would also let us know what kind of weather was headed our way and we either blamed her or thanked her for what was coming. Try as we might, we could never convince her that she needed to get a computer so she could keep up on family and events in PA ... I guess Ann Lou filled in more reliably than a computer ever could, and we counted on them both to keep us informed about the family, too.
We will miss her so much, and miss all her beautiful and interesting stories.

In Loving Memory,
Richard and Sandy Bear

Marie was a very good friend to my mother. Even until last year she would join my mother to come see the concerts that my choir did in Columbus. It was a joy seeing her there and spending time talking with her. I have known her and her family for decades through our church in Johnstown. Melissa and Todd, you were blessed to have this woman as your mother.

Dear Aunt Marie,
As a young kid my fondest memories are when I would visit at Penn State-I stayed for long vacations and you took me to the local pool. I always loved food and remember that you took me to Kroger’s in Ohio and got me donuts—on clearance of course!!😀( you only spoiled me a little) You will be missed on Earth but your memory will always be with me.
We all were lucky to grow up with the Bear family!!!Rest in Peace

Marie was an Aunt to my husband Steve Oswald and was a cherished part of both the Oswald and the Bear family. I remember when Steve took our sons out to visit Marie and Dick in Ohio and they had such a great time. We always looked forward to her coming into attend the Bear family reunion over the Labor Day weekend too. Marie always spoke her mind and sometimes that was a good thing and sometimes it wasn’t lol, but you always knew that she treasured her entire family whether it was in Ohio or back home in Pennsylvania. My thoughts and prayers go out to her daughter and son, grandchildren, her sister Annalou, her nieces and nephews and all her many friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Rest peacefully Aunt Marie
Love you always

On November 15, 1980 I took our 3 year old son, Tim, to Marie, so she could care for him until my parents arrived from Kenton, OH. I then went home and picked up Elsie, who was in labor, and drove hurriedly to Riverside Hospital in Columbus for the birth of our daughter, Kristi. Marie was an angel that we needed at a moment’s notice to help us. Now she has joined the ranks of heaven’s angels. She was a dear saint whose kindness, love and generosity touched our lives and so many others. Thanks be to God for her life and service!
