Ruth Elizabeth Purdin, 92, of Johnstown, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at her residence. She was born on November 14, 1932 in Columbus, OH, a daughter to the late William and Mary (Gahm) Johnson. Ruth graduated from Linden McKinley High School in 1950. She was employed with bank institutions in Columbus and Johnstown and also part owner of Purdin’s Drive Thru Feeds. Ruth was a member of Johnstown United Methodist Church and active in CCL for many years. She is survived by her loving son, Dale Purdin; nieces, Sharon (Bob) Cassady and Gale Wray and nephews, Tom Johnson and Mark (Suzanne) Townsend. In addition to her parents, Ruth is also preceded in death by her husband, Dan Purdin; brother, Paul (Irene) Johnson; sister, Doris (Rex) Townsend and nephew, Jim Johnson. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at CROUSE-KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Cassady officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001 in Ruth’s memory.
