Salvatore James Zinni, age 78, of Johnstown, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital. He was born on August 29, 1947, in Batavia, New York to the late Donald and Rose Zinni. Salvatore proudly served in the United States Army for two years where he did a tour in Germany. Following his time in the service he went on to work for the Newark Air Force Base and retired after several hard-working years. In his free time Salvatore would enjoy working outdoors, spending time with his nieces and nephew, and watching sports, especially his Florida Gators. Salvatore is survived by his loving sisters, Angela (Bob) Pulsfort, Donna (Jim) Dietzel, and Barbara (Rick) Catlett; nephew, Danny (Wendy) Dietzel; nieces, Jamie (Kyle) Cook and Mollie (Blake) Newberry; and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones. A funeral mass will be held for Salvatore at a later date, with a private graveside service to follow.
