

Tim Allen Buel, 81, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at his residence after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 6, 1944, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Phyllis and M.P. Buel. Tim graduated from North High School in Columbus in 1962, where he excelled as a student athlete. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp and honorably served his country from June 1963 to February 1966. Tim would go on to start his career at General Electric in Coshocton and enjoyed being a player on the company softball team. He retired from Ohio Public Employee Retirement System after twenty plus hardworking years as a computer operator. Tim loved all things sports; growing up he was an excellent swimmer, football, baseball, and basketball player, and even coached a women’s softball team. In his later years, Tim took up golf and made countless new friends and memories. He also loved his family deeply and loved to travel the world. Tim is survived by his loving children, Trisha (William) Harshey, Christina (Robert) Bennington, and Wendy (Dallas) Buel; grandchildren, Mandy, Matthew (Lindsey), Michelle (Brandon), Michael (Chaska), Munson (Jenn), Mercy (Jordan), Emily, Justin, Connor, Sarah, Casey (Ashley), Jeremy, and Kelby; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Sutton; nieces, Jodi (Jeff) Wilson and Jill (Rick) Schroth; nephew, John Sutton; and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones. In addition to his parents, Tim is preceded in passing by his brother-in-law, Thomas Sutton. Family and friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2025, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the funeral home, with Michael Wallace officiating. Immediately following the funeral service, Tim will be laid to rest at the Hartford Cemetery in Croton.
