Bennie Morris Sr.

Bennie Morris, age 78, of Conley, Georgia passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, in the presence of his beloved family. He was born to the late Walter & Hattie Mae Morris in Sparta, Georgia on June 18, 1947.

Bennie attended Baldwin High School in Milledgeville, GA. He later completed the nursing program at Central State Hospital also in Milledgeville, GA. He went on to work for 34 years as an Activity Therapist at Georgia Regional Hospital after which he retired. Bennie married his childhood sweetheart, Clara Thomas in 1966 and from this union, two children were born, Bennie Morris Jr. and Walter Morris.

He loved hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and traveling. He enjoyed life with his beloved wife up until he became ill in March of 2025. He will be forever loved and forever missed by all who know him.

Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters; Alice Thomas and Ruby Thomas, and one brother; Joe Morris.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 59 years; Clara Morris, his son; Bennie (Karen) Morris Jr., and his two grandchildren; Bennie James Morris III and Lily Jane Morris.

A visitation for Bennie will be held Friday, October 10, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Tara Garden Chapel, 681 North Ave, Jonesboro, GA 30236. A funeral service will occur at the funeral home on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at Kennedy Memorial Gardens, 2500 River Rd, Ellenwood, GA 30294.
