Clover Lee Jones

MR. CLOVER L. JONES, a 65 year resident of Jonesboro GA passed away at the age of 96 on February 3, 2013. He had been a member of The First Baptist Church of Jonesboro for 65 years; he was a 60 year member of the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge #87 F&AM; he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, and he retired from the Ford Motor Company with more than 29 years of service. Up until recently, he would go to “The Rock” at the First Baptist Church and clean the building beginning at 6:30 every morning. He was born in Fayette County GA on January 23, 1917 to the late Arthur W. Jones and Lellar C. Turner Jones. His loving wife of 57 years, Etta McClain Jones and one son, William E. Jones preceded him in death. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Robert L. Jones, of Riverdale GA and Randy M. and Linda Jones of McDonough GA, one daughter Joyce Jones Jay and Jimmy of Jonesboro GA; one sister Dorothy E. Jones; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; several nieces, nephews and many friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 6 – 8 PM. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 1:30 at the Tara Garden Chapel funeral home, 681 North Avenue, Jonesboro, GA 30236 770.471.7171

Mr. Jones was our neighbor on Church St. in Jonesboro, ...I remember him walking thru Jonesboro every day up and down Main and Church. His son Robert was in my JHS class. Sorry for your loss, the Jones family

I am so sorry to hear that Mr. Jones passed away. I remember seeing him walking all over Jonesboro for so many years. We also attended church together for about 50 years. He was a fine man. My deeped sympathy to his family.

I am in Hawaii where my boyfriend lives or I would come to the funeral home. I would love to see everyone. I still often think about those Christmases at Granny and Grand-daddy's.We are all so spread out these days but know that I love ya'll and am thinking about your family during this.
