Cynthia Ann Walker was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend of many, and a devoted Christian raised in College Park, GA. Once she was old enough to drive, she became a chauffeur to her younger siblings and the errand girl. She was always involved in something, whether it be Acteens, having a Vacation Bible School set up in the basement in their home at the age of 12, Girl Scouts, crafting, baking, and anything she could DIY. She pretty much had a vision for everything.
Cynthia was born on September 26, 1959, and she graduated from College Park High in 1977. Soon after she met John at a Ceramics shop, after they dated, they married in November 1981, where they started a new journey together in Riverdale, GA and soon after started a family.
Cynthia went to be with our Savior Jesus Christ on May 22, 2025.
Cynthia loved to work outside with plants and flowers and also loved to relax in her rocking chair watching the Cardinals, Robins, Blue jays, Hummingbirds, and the many other species of birds visiting the numerous birdhouses and feeders throughout the backyard. She also loved spending time with her family, planning birthday parties, camping trips at Lake Lanier, and summer trips to Destin, FL with the entire Smith family. In the early 2000s, Cynthia began working with Clayton County Public Schools as a bus driver while pursuing her bachelor's degree in English Language, Learner Studies, and Social Science at Ashford University. She became a Paraprofessional at Riverdale High School in the Transitions program, where she began working with Special Education students. After getting acclimated with the rest of the team, Cynthia decided she wanted to further her education, so she enrolled at Northwestern University to earn a Master's Degree in Education Specialists, specializing in Special Education. During this time she transferred to the Perry Career Academy where she began working at the Alternative Virtual Academy teaching 6,7,8, grade science. While working at the Alternative Virtual Academy she finished her Master's degree program, which allowed her to work with grades 9-12 as well. Shortly after, a DES Lead position became available on the Open Campus side of the Perry Career Academy. Cynthia quickly took the position, where she led her team to improve the Perry Career Academy's overall graduation rate. As the years went on Cynthia became an asset to the PCA due to her ability to adapt to her student's individual learning capabilities, her data-taking skills, her kindness, and her genuine demeanor towards all of her peers.
