

Earlier in her life she was employed at Library of Congress in Washington D.C. then moved to Atlanta Ga where she as employed at FDA. She was also employed at Clayton County Board of Education and finally at Clayton County Sheriff’s Office.Dorothy had an infectious smile that would brighten any room she entered. She was a funny, loving and family oriented person that loved life. She was a nurturer and a good listener and confidant. She will be surely missed by those that knew and loved her.
She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was a loyal member of The Word of God Christian Ministries Church in Hampton, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents John Wesley and Daphne Lee Mabry and her sisters Erna Jones and Judith Mason. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons; Keith (Karen) Barnes of Annapolis, Maryland, Percy Marcel (Tamika) Barnes of McDonough, GA.; sister; Nancy Hamp of Hampton, GA; Two brothers; John Wesley Mabry Jr. of Portsmouth, VA and Joe (Brenda) Mabry of Franklin,VA; Grandchildren; Ebonee Imes of McDonough GA, Dyamond Barnes of Atlanta, GA, Blair Barnes of McDonough, GA and Kevon Barnes of Annapolis, Maryland,Three great-grandchildren; Sincere Griffith of McDonough, GA, Kaiser Owens and Kevon Darby Jr of Annapolis, Maryland. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 1 p.m., Tara Garden Chapel Funeral Home, 681 North Avenue, Jonesboro, GA 30236.
