Gloria Jeanne Mosley

Chickie passed away peacefully on April 11, 2017 after a long and painful bout of ALS. She was born Gloria Jeanne Bryant on January 28, 1947 to Arthur L Bryant and Gloria M (Mellgram) Bryant, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Gary D Johnson (deceased) in 1972 and had two daughters. She met Gene Harris (deceased) in 1978 and had a daughter. After moving to FR. Lauderdale, FL, she met and married J. Dexter Mosley in 1996. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.

Chickie was a resident of Sharon Hill, PA and the surrounding area until she was 40. She then spent 10 years in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, then 11 years in Perris, CA, and she spent her remaining years in Georgia surrounded by her loving family.

She was a life-long learner and returned to school many times earning college degrees and taking adult education classes. Chickie enjoyed arts and crafts, reading sewing and cooking. She maintained an open-door policy in her home; any one in need was welcome. This introduced her 3 daughters to many people from different backgrounds and different values. This combined with her gypsy lifestyle gave her daughters a look into experiences they would probably never have glimpsed. Life with her was never mundane.

She will be missed so much. It is going to be very difficult to adjust to the fact she is no longer physically with us. However, her love and spirit lives on.

She is survived by daughters: Kheisha Johnson, Glorya Johnson, Artra Harris-Johnson; Grandchildren: Aneisha Gelsey, Desiree Lindsay, Donovon Lindsay, DeAndra Harris-Johnson, Aries Coston; Great-grandchildren: Avery Gelsey, Andre Gelsey, McKenzie BoBo; Foster Daughters: Tasha Smith and Ciara Hunt; Sisters: Mrs. Zelma Barrett, Theresa Anderson (Louis), Artra Cooper (Hugh) Special Friend Turbie Williams and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Tara Garden Chapel, 681 North Ave, Jonesboro, GA at 1pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service.

Her cremated remains will later be scattered in Sharon Hill, PA.
