

A proud veteran of the United States Army for 30 years, he served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Europe and the US.
Born in Alto, Texas, SGM (Ret) Mason traveled the world with his family, leaving a legacy of respect and dignity wherever he served. After retiring, he settled in Jonesboro, Georgia where he met and has remained close to many friends and neighbors.
His greatest duty came in his latter years, caring for his surviving wife of 70 years, Hazel, whom he met and married while serving in England during WWII.
He is also survived by son Joel Kenneth Mason (Barbara) of Evans, Georgia; daughter Georgia Mason Delbridge (Albert) of Lynchburg, Virginia; and son David Craig Mason (Debbie) of Williamsburg, Virginia. Also surviving are his grandchildren Tiffany (Dave), Brent (Michelle), Shannon (JR), Heather, Brittany, Jennifer, Greg (Meredith), Benjamin, Danielle, Jared (Rebecca), Melissa (Jonathan), Brian (Whitney), Ben (Shauna), Jennie and 19 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Joel V. Mason will be held on Saturday October 25, 2014 from 12pm to 2pm at Tara Garden Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral Service immediatley following Visitation 2pm in our Chapel.
SGM(Ret) Mason will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery
