

Joice Ann Merritt-Quinn was born on August 21, 1949 in Charleston, Missouri. She was the fifth child and first born to Sherwood and Mary Cross. The family later relocated to Niles, Michigan. Joice accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age in life.
She married the love of her life Robert Lee Merritt at a young tender age. Their love and union produced eight beautiful children. After the death of her first love, she later remarried her current husband Ronnie Quinn.
After relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, she became a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She faithfully served as a member of the gospel choir, usher board, youth ministry and cleaning committee. Joice worked for Hertz payroll department for nineteen years before retiring later in 2010. Her hobbies included serving, decorating, helping others and most of all spending time with her family and loved ones. During her tenure, she received many accolades, awards, and certificates for her outstanding service.
Joice was preceded in death by her parents, Sherwood and Mary Cross; her first love, Robert Merritt; Son who was unnamed prior to death; granddaughter, Shantel Jenkins; Sister, Judy Scott and brother, Sherwood Cross, Jr.
Joice leaves to cherish her legacy Daughters, Monica Merritt-Edwards and Mia Merritt-Whitney; Sons Michael Merritt, Marshall Merritt, Marcus Merritt, Montay Merritt, Matthew Merritt; 33 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; Sisters, Jackie Thomas, Phyllis Harris, Vivian Moore, Melody Woods, Wanda Mack, Nanette Cross, April Davis, Darlinda Harris; Brothers Donald Cross and Ricky Cross; Current spouse Ronnie Quinn; stepchildren, Karen Quinn, Renard Quinn, and Allen Quinn. Many nieces, nephews, and a host of beloved relatives and friends.
This is your season for grace, for favor and this is your season to reap what you have sown. You will be dearly missed by all whose life you touched with your compassionate, forgiving and loving heart.
