Joseph “Joe” A. Burns, Sr passed away December 29, 2016. Originally from Jesup, GA, he spent most of his 85 years in the Atlanta area working and retiring from the Atlanta Gas Light Company. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and served in several volunteer posts including, Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 489, St. Augustine vestry member, Trinity Towers board member.
Preceded in death by his wife, Saralyna, and parents, Harry and Blanche, he is survived by his children, Joe, Jr. and Bill, and grandchildren Billy and Derek.
Memorial service will be held at St. Augustine Episcopal Church in Morrow on Saturday, 1/7/2017 at 1:30. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Augustine Episcopal Church.
