

Martha united in matrimony to the late Eddie Hoyt to this union two sons were born Eric and Derrick Hoyt. She was later married to her high school sweetheart, Navy veteran Clyde Blake. To this union one child was born, Corliss M. Blake. Martha gave her life to Christ at a young age and served as a faithful member at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga the area is now known as Brookhaven, Ga. While worshipping at Little Zion she was active in the Senior Choir.
She is a 1958 graduate of the Lynwood Park Elementary and High School. Upon graduation in 1958, Martha sought secretarial and clerical training at the Mattie Demiry Business College in Atlanta. She landed a job at Spiegel's Department Store in Chicago. She worked there for several years with her sister-in-law, Mamie, later her sisters Ella and Virginia, before returning to the South.
Martha came back to the Atlanta area where she served dutifully for 34 years at Internal Revenue Service in Chamblee before retiring.
Once retired, Martha could be found volunteering for multiple organization while caring for her husband. Martha was well known to be the pecan lady and the neighborhood watch to others. She was “Mom” to many!
Martha was preceded in death with her parents, along with nine other siblings; Ella Louise, Joe Nathan, Roy Lee, Mary, Paul, Fred, Mozell, Odell and Virginia Louise. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her loving husband Clyde Blake, children: Eric G. Hoyt, Decatur,GA., Derrick R. Hoyt (Haddasah).,Israel, and Corliss M. Blake, Riverdale,GA; eight grandchildren, Cardora, Ronesia (Darryl), Derrico, Quentarious, Sirdarius, Nebiyah, Nabiel, and Dnahtiyah; ten great-grand Dorian, Symone, Thomas, Quentin, Kourtney, Darryl, Daniel, Preston, David and Baylee; Also surviving are siblings Henry, (Robbie) Scott ,Katie (Wilmer) Harris, Clarence Scott, Peter (Brenda) Scott Jr., Barbara Shaw and a host of nephew, nieces, cousins, god childen, and friends.
