Marvin "Smitty" L. Smith

Marvin L. “Smitty” Smith age 85 of Morrow, Ga went home to be with the Lord September 27, 2015. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed. Smitty was a devout Christian who truly lived his faith. He was preceded in death by his wives, Betty Marie Smith and Velma Smith. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Vickie Brown.

He is survived by his daughter, Nedra Chatham of Locust Grove; daughter and son in law, Rhonda and Greg Lynch of Carrollton; grandchildren, Scott Brown, Randy Brown, Shellie Land, Candace Speltz, Shane Lynch; great grandchildren, Zack Brown, Chaz Brown, Taylor Land, Cameron Land, Christian Speltz, Brayden Schears, Tristan Lynch, Japheth Lynch, Delia Akers and Anna Akers.

A funeral service will be held, Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the chapel with Pastor Greg Drake officiating. Interment will be in Lawnwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Covington. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Tara Garden Chapel Funeral Home – Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
