The family of Mildred "Mimi" Blalock Hunt Seydel is saddened by her passing and joyous in celebration of her long, fruitful, and happy life. Mimi was born in Jonesboro in 1914 to John Ernest and Beatrice Thomas Blalock and began her career at the age of 16 at cosmetic manufacturer Newbro prior to meeting and marrying Lyndel Hunt of Hapeville in 1932. In 1956 She joined the Seydel-Woolley chemical company in Atlanta where she managed several divisions during her long career until 1978. Several years after the death of her husband Lyndel, she married widower John Rutherford Seydel of Atlanta in 1986, and enjoyed a quarter century marriage.
Mimi is survived by her loving family of 2 sisters, Gladys B. Camp and Alice B. Buchanan. Nine nieces and nephews, four stepchildren with thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her elder brothers John Perry Blalock and Charles Samuel Blalock.
Graveside family services will be held at Mundy Cemetery located off State Road 54, Clayton County,Georgia, Roy Watkins officiating pastor.
