Mrs. Naomi Jean Nixon, age 82, of Greenacres, FL, formerly of Riverdale, GA, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018 at the home of her daughter, Pam Gross. She passed away of natural causes.
Naomi was born on November 5, 1935 in Dawson Springs, KY, the daughter of James Marvin and Ola Mae Dillingham.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Naomi is preceded in death by her husband, James William Nixon; her parents; two brothers, James R. Dillingham and Cleatus F. Dillingham; three sisters, Ruth Manners, Sue Chilton, and Linda Saturley.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Bill Gross of Greenacres, FL, Myra and Mike Vandecar of Locust Grove, GA; grandsons and their wives, Todd and Heather Gross of Jupiter, FL, Brian and Pamela Vandecar of Locust Grove, GA; two great-grandchildren, Carter Gross and Adalynn Vandecar.
Naomi's family will receive friends on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Tara Garden Chapel.
Funeral Services honoring Naomi's life will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Tara Garden Chapel with Rev. Jebo Barnes officiating.
Committal Services for Naomi will be held immediately following the funeral at Sherwood Memorial Park - 6841 Tara Blvd. - Jonesboro, GA 30236. (770) 478-5001.
