Rachel Lee (McGhee) Tell 71, of Riverdale, GA was born on October 24, 1948 in Montgomery (Flat Wood) Alabama to the late Milton McGhee Sr. and Alma Lee McGhee. Rachel passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 peacefully in her sleep to be with the Lord.
Rachel married her childhood sweetheart Jose (Joe) Tell on June 27, 1970 and they were married for 50 years. Rachel worked at the Hartsfield Jackson Airport for several years before retiring in 2009.
Rachel enjoyed attending church, visiting family and friends, shopping, decorating her home and baking cakes. She was a very good cook and enjoyed hosting family gatherings at her home. Rachel loved life. She loved dolls and porcelain figurines which she collected or made throughout the years. She enjoyed and was greatly interested in the lives of her grandchildren and looked forward to seeing them grow and change in the future. Rachel had a very kind heart and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ms. Rachel Tell is survived by her devoted and lovely husband, Jose (Joe) Tell; two sons, Roderick Van (Katherine) Tell of Berlin, Germany; Daryl Orlando Tell of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Patricia Heath of Rochester, NY and Juanita Weaver of Montgomery, Al ; 1 brother Milton McGhee Jr of Berlin, Germany. three grandchildren, Van O Robbin, Dezmond O Tell, Christopher Tell, five sister- in-laws, Ethel (Walter) McGhee, Rebecca (Robert)Brown, Jessie (Willie) Harris, Jannie Bozeman, Emma (George)James, Rosie Jackson, Roberta Harris, Willie C (Milton) Bennett and 1 brother in law James Tell of Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of other family members and many dear friends.
Rachel was preceded in death by one brother, Freddie McGhee Sr. of Cleveland Ohio
