Ronald R. Brauer

He graduated from Joliet Township High School on June 2, 1960, and shortly after, enlisted in the U.S. Army in September of 1961. He completed basic training at Ft. Knox, KY, and was stationed in Berlin, Germany and Ft. Ord, CA. During his time in the army, he completed three tours to Vietnam spanning over a term of 43 months, and was also sent to Korea for 49 months.

He met his wife, Chong, in Seoul, Korea in 1974. They wed November 1, 1974, and he adopted her daughter, Theresa. They left Korea for Ft. Knox, KY on February 12, 1977. Ron retired from the U.S. Army on September 30, 1981 and left for Saudi Arabia the same month. He returned home 28 months later. After retiring from the military he worked at Eckard Drug and supervised 18 drivers at Service America Inc. In November of 1989 Ron began working for the post office. He retired December 31, 2004.
