I never had the opportunity to meet Chael.  I  worked with her mother Maria at Delta as a flight attendant.
I know Maria raised her children in such a way that they would love The Lord and be wonderful children.  
Shanel is missed by all whose path she crossed.

I worked with Shanel at GSU. She was a genuinely kind hearted person.  I often think about conversations we had about our faith and the encouragement she would give me and others. She is definitely missed.

It's been a year. I still have my days of grieve but none as much as those I have of good remembering things you said, your laugh, and the Little family love for each other. I still miss you. Spirit to spirit can't wait to see you chica love you.

My heart will always miss Shanel, although it gets more manageable over time.  She has lived more in her 21 years than some people live in an entire lifetime.  Her impact and influence has changed the world in more ways that you can imagine! She didn't just existed but REALLY lived!  For that, the world is truly a better place. I'm never going to forget the surprise I got when I went back to visit and found you immersed in technology. For all of the after school fun we got to have at the amphitheater thank you. Wow, it's still so hard to believe that Shanel is gone. I've been knowing her and her brother malcolm since Lake Ridge Elementary. We stay in the same neighborhood and everything. I am grateful that I spent my summer with her as RA's together. She was a beautiful lady and cute as a button. I can still hear her laughter and see her big hair clearly in my memory. I am sad to know she is not here, but resting in God's will to take her at this age. Her death has made me realize how precious life really is.

My dearest best friend Shanel, we grew up together from 1st grade to Georgia State University. We've been through the good times and rarely any bad times. In those times, the good have ALWAYS outweighed the bad. We have shared many laughs, smiles, hugs, dances, conversations, accomplishments and shed very few tears. I will cherish those memories that we have created and will share them with our loved ones. I now understand why God had to take such a sweet, beautiful person like you. You were the purest, sweetest, intelligent person that God could bless us with. Until we meet again in Heaven, I will miss you & love you always and forever.

To the Little Family, at a time like this I, like so many others, struggle to find the right thing to say. I find comfort and I hope you will too, in knowing that my very good friend Lisa (who is a Nurse) was with Shanel the whole time. God is good always, even when we don't understand, but His ways are perfect. I had the honor of being a student teacher with Shanel this semester at GSU. I admired her beautiful spirit and had no doubt about her love for Jesus. She would always encourage me before an observation.
