

Sharona LaShel Jones, born on June 19, 1964, in Los Angeles, California, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, in Jonesboro, Georgia. She was a beloved mother, sister and friend, known for her vibrant personality
and entrepreneurial spirit. Sharona was born to Elihue Bingley and Dorothy Lee Mudrick. She attended and graduated from Crenshaw High School before pursuing her passion for hairstyling at cosmetology school.
In the early 90’s Sharona’s drive and determination led her to begin a sales career at “Steve’s Auto Sales.” Shortly thereafter, Sharona decided to change her scenery after a call from her older sister, Linda, who spoke highly of Georgia’s beauty. She then moved to Columbus, GA, and purchased her first
home, she was employed at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC). Sharona attended and joined New Hope Church of God In Christ; it was then when she gave her life to Christ.
After leaving her career in sales, Sharona moved to Jonesboro, GA that’s when she attended and became a watchcare member of Cathedral Word of Deliverance. Sharona followed her entrepreneurial instincts and opened a business, “Loss Prevention,” where her family played integral roles. Sharona was always the life of the party; known for her ability to give everyone she liked a unique nickname.
Her warmth and generosity touched many lives. Sharona had a passion for cooking and loved spending time in her yard planting flowers. Her culinary skills and beautiful garden were a testament to her creativity and love for nature.
Sharona is survived by her two daughters, Theondra Parker and Amari Jones; her two sisters, Linda Smith (Mace) and Tarsha Balara (Richard); and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Sharona will be held Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 2:00 PM at Tara Garden Chapel, 681 North Ave, Jonesboro, GA 30236.
