William Wesley White III

July 18, 1936April 22, 2021

William Wesley White III, age 84, went to be with the Lord in his home on Thursday, April 22nd surrounded by all of his loved ones. He was born in Jackson, Tennessee on July 18, 1936. He was preceded In death by his father and mother; William and Ruth White, as well as his sister; Ruth Stroh. Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Peggy White. He was a wonderful father to his seven children, Jimmy Conklin, Wesley White, Lisa Phillips, Jennifer Edwards, Irma Baldwin, Shirley Arvey and Mary Bailey. One of his favorite titles was “Paw Paw” as he had sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren whom he loved dearly. As well, he is survived by his older sister, Nancy Barr. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.

Bill was such a hard-working and humble man. He retired from Eastern and Northwest Airlines after many years of dedication to the job. To know him was to love him. He always had a way with people, and truly made an impact on so many throughout his life. He loved and served those around him with all of his being, and lived a life that imitated Jesus. A truly amazing man that put others above himself, cared deeply and always had a smile on his face.

A simple man, really. One who loved Chick-fil-A Ice cream, cruising through flea markets, attending gun shows and making memories in the mountains. Word searches and sudokus were some of his favorite activities, and of course we can’t forget about his love for NCIS. He couldn’t get enough of the good ole’ comedies, listening to Leann Rimes, and playing the harmonica. Looking back on his life, he would say how lucky he was not for the things he had but because of those around him. He adored his family with all of his heart. Although he is no longer here with us physically, the impact and love he provided through the years will remain with us forever.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. However, it brings us all peace knowing he is free of his pain and walking with Jesus now.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 27th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 28th at 1 pm. Both will take place at Tara Garden Chapel located at 681 North Ave in Jonesboro, GA. Masks are required to attend. Burial will take place at Sherwood Memorial Gardens following the service. .

Flowers and condolences may be offered at 681 North Avenue, Jonesboro, GA 30236.

My precious Daddy, I cannot begin to express my love and admiration for you. You are and will always be my hero. God could have never picked a better man to be my Dad. You showed me a love like no other. I have a hard time imagining a life without you in it, but the life you provided for me was so full of love and happiness that I will always have a lifetime of joyful memories. I love you my precious and I will always be your little girl.

Pawpaw- I first want to say how blessed I am to have been able to know you and be apart of your family, beyond blessed my boys were able to have such a loving pawpaw like you. You were truly one of a kind. Such a sweet, gentle, loving man and all the grandkids loved you so dearly ♡ I will always remember how you held your cheek out for me when you knew I was coming in the door so I could give you a kiss on the cheek and you would always tell me "sorry honey I got stickers today." You will be greatly missed but your memory will forever exist, my kids will never forget you I promise that. I love you, it's not goodbye its see you later.

We would like to extend our prayers and sympathy to your family in this time of grieving.

We didn’t have the chance to know your Father very well, but we know he must have been someone very special to have raised such a great daughter like you.

The lessons your Dad taught you, the love he gave, the way he cared for your family, all those good things will live on in you and provide you with everlasting memories to cherish for the rest of your life. No greater gift can a Father bestow to his children.

Our condolences to his family.
