Alan is survived by his wife, Jane Rizzi; his children, Alison Manship and Clifford Rizzi; their spouses, Shane Manship and Olga Rizzi and his grandson, Robert (Danny) Rizzi. He also leaves behind his twin sisters, Joan Patel and Judy Grote and many nieces and nephews whom he cherished.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Daniel Rizzi.
Alan was born in Tarrytown, New York on November 5, 1942 to Helen and Dan Rizzi. He graduated from Sleepy Hollow High School and then went on to Pace College where he played tennis and earned his degree.
Alan married Jane Applegate Rizzi on February 8, 1975. They were married 44 years and shared a special closeness.
After college, Alan enjoyed his career in market research as Executive Vice President of Marketing at Towne Oller & Associates as well as National Retail Services and IRI. He also had jobs in retail and with the U.S. Postal Service early in his career. In his retirement, Alan was a realtor specializing in Jonathan's Landing Properties.
Alan was a strong and sensitive man who put his family first. He spent as much time with them as possible whether it was boating on Long Island Sound or skiing the slopes of Okemo Mountain in Vermont.
Alan was a long-time member of The Stamford Yacht Club. He enjoyed tennis, fishing, lobstering and cruising in New England as well as Florida. He was also a member of the Jonathan’s Landing Yacht Club in Jupiter, Florida.
Alan had an amazing sense of humor. His smile and laugh made him magnetic. He was a great host and an even better bartender. Alan was a loyal friend and had many friendships throughout his life that he held very dear.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations can be sent to the American Heart Association and Hospice of Palm Beach.
