Andy showed a great aptitude for math and science and graduated from Lane Tech High School in 1977. After attending Illinois Institute of Technology, he pursued Masters and PhD degrees at the University of Toronto - where he also married Marlene in 1981.
Andy and Marlene moved to south Florida in 1987; Andy working at Pratt and Whitney and Marlene finishing school and obtaining her CPA. They had two daughters, Valerie and Sonja, who are now in law school and graduate school for mechanical engineering, respectively. The girls were always happy to visit mom and dad in Florida, as well as host them in their adopted cities of Williamsburg and Atlanta. Andy and Sonja’s fiancé Jordan formed a strong bond in the last two years.
The family had two beagles, Chips and Snoopy (who is still with us). Andy was very good at giving the dogs “mind melds” and considered Snoopy a “mayor” of the neighborhood.
Andy was a very gentle, tender hearted husband and father - he was also curious about science and technology, and on friendly terms with colleagues. He loved to travel – Germany and Serbia being where his family originated - and prized education. He will be greatly missed, but is finally at rest.
There will be a gathering following the burial on Monday with the Brankovic family from 3:30 pm - 7:00 pm at Evergrene Pavilion (behind the Clubhouse), 650 Evergrene Parkway, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410.
Outdoor shaded seating & light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to (561) 281-7262.
