

Born on March 10, 1967, in Rockford, Illinois to Terry and Diana Dillman, Andy was raised in Rockford and graduated from Auburn High School, class of 1985, after being named a National Merit Scholar and receiving the Presidential Academic Fitness Award. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with honors and dual degrees in Finance and Economics and DePaul University with a Master of Business Administration. He enjoyed playing trombone with jazz quartets, volunteering at the Lincoln Park Zoo and Shed Aquarium, and spending time with his friends and family.
Andy excelled at a long career in Finance, specializing in portfolio management in Chicago early in his career and most recently in regulatory compliance with the Energy, Marketing, and Trading division of Florida Power and Light, a NextEra Energy subsidiary. He devoted nearly 37 years to his work, demonstrating unwavering dedication throughout his career. He was widely respected for his meticulous attention to detail and steadfast reliability.
Throughout his life, Andy followed his passion for sailing and scuba diving. He earned his Divemaster and Instructor certification soon after college, raced in the annual Regattas on Lake Michigan, and moved to Florida in 1997 to pursue his Captain’s license. While overseeing dive operations on a dive boat in the Bahamas, he met his wife, Michelle. Michelle and Andy made their home in Boca Raton, Florida and years later welcomed their amazing son, Sean.
Known for his deep convictions, humor, and generosity, Andy possessed a genuine kindness that made everyone comfortable. He shared a deep love and respect for Michelle and Sean, close bonds with his family, and built meaningful, lasting connections with those fortunate enough to know him.
Andy was preceded in death by extraordinary individuals; grandparents, Ed and Evelyn Dillman, Alice Hay, Bill and Nancy Hay, uncles, Scott Dillman and Elvis Neie, and his aunt, Tommi Boeder.
He is survived by and missed by his loving family; lifelong love, Michelle Blackstock, son, Sean Dillman, mother, Diana Dillman, father, Terry Dillman, step-mother, Jane Dillman, sister, Juli Melanson (Tom), stepbrother, Tim Clark (Ellen), stepsister, Tami Born (Curt), nephews, Alexander Melanson, Brandon Clark, Nathan (Hannah) Davis, and Tyler Born, niece, Alexis Born, and many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends near and far.
Andy’s wishes were to be cremated with his ashes dispersed in a special place in the Atlantic Ocean near the Bahamas. There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Aycock-Riverside Funeral Home, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, Florida, on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Andrew's name to the American Cancer Society.
