Betty Biesel Ranney, 84, of Jupiter, FL passed away at home on June 3, 2026. She was born on January 15, 1942; the daughter of the late Robert G. Biesel and Susan F. Fowler in Shanghai, China where she, her sister, and her parents were interned by the Japanese during WWII. They repatriated to the United States in 1942 and settled in Kenilworth, IL where she attended New Trier High School.
Betty eventually moved to Jupiter, FL and opened her business, A Box Office Plus, which she ran for nearly 38 years, maintaining close relationships with many of her customers. She loved meeting new people and greeted everyone with a warm smile. Betty was gracious and generous to those in need, including stray animals. She enjoyed cooking, playing bridge, listening to music, her pets, and spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Oswald and her nephews, Erik Rasmussen and Ian Rasmussen.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Barbara Rasmussen.
A memorial service will be held privately at the Kenilworth Union Church in Illinois, where she will be in interred with her family.
