

Our amazing and incredibly strong mother, Camille Suzanne Powers, 85, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, in Jupiter, FL. She was born on August 30, 1938, in Davisburg, Michigan to Robert and Marjorie (Joyce) Dotson.
Camille graduated from Holly High School in Michigan then attended classes at Palm Beach Junior College in Lake Worth, Florida. She was married to her former husband, Robert (Bob) Powers, for 21 years and had three children. She moved from Michigan to Florida in 1960, lived there for a year or so before moving back to Michigan then moved to Florida again in 1972, where she lived the rest of her life. She worked in banking in Michigan and Florida for many years before retiring at 62.
Camille was a great cook and baker. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, movies, camping, driving classic cars and riding motorcycles. She loved fashion, music, traveling, tap dancing, ballet, concerts and plays. She adored animals, especially Prince, the Wonder Pony (she did not like reptiles). She was the best mom ever, had a great sense of humor, and loved to have fun.
Camille is survived by her loving children, Rochelle Powers, her fiancé Lou Mannheimer; Gina Cella, her husband Steve, and Jon Powers, his wife Melanie; sister, Julie Whittemore; nieces, Denise Schooley, Robin Barrick and Joy Whittemore; nephew, Jay Whittemore; and former sister-in-law, Polly Allard.
She was preceded in death by both parents; brother-in-law, James (Jim) Whittemore; and former husband/father of their children, Robert (Bob) Powers.
