Carlos Gaetano Maglione, devoted husband, loving Dad and Nonno and cherished son, brother, uncle and friend, was peacefully called home by his Father in Heaven on April 1, 2021. In 1955, Carlos was born to his proud Mother and Father, Gaetano and Lilia. He had a happy childhood growing up in Caracas, Venezuela alongside his three siblings, Pedro, Arnaldo and Gioconda. As a young boy, he loved to explore the beach and mountains, a love he would later share with his wife and family. At the age of 21, he decided to further his education and move to the United States, a decision that would forever change his life. Six months after arriving in the US, he met and quickly fell in love with Dawn, his wife of 41 years. On their first date while slow dancing, after their first kiss, their eyes locked and Carlos said, “I knew it was love at first sight”. Dawn describes her and Carlos’ life together as one big passionate roller coaster ride. Of course there were peaks and valleys, but their life together was full of joy, laughter and thrills. They built a home together that was founded in faith and respect, and their love blossomed into their family of 16 – daughter Michelle and son-in-law Robert, son Carlos, daughter-in-law Erika and grandchildren Kaylie and Nicholas, daughter Kristin, son-in-law Justin and grandchildren Mason, Noah and Oliver and daughter Regina, son-in-law Timothy and grandchildren Ava, Joseph and Thomas Charles. Pride could always be found in his eyes and heard in his voice when he spoke of his family. Carlos also took immense pride in his Italian and Venezuelan roots and in becoming a United States citizen. His dedication to supporting his family led him to his successful 26-year career with the Federal Government. His loyalty and passion was evident to all those he worked with and his many commendations were proof of the respected reputation he earned among his colleagues. Faith and family meant the world to Carlos. You are missed so much more than words can ever express, but we know your soul has found peace and comfort in the glory of our Lord. We love you always and forever.

Carlos - I see two great men in these pictures that are now with the Lord. Thank you for being a coworker and friend to Ron. He always told me you were one of his best Revenue Officers. I know the two of you were always goofing off and making everyone smile. I just can imagine what is happening in Heaven. I remember meeting Dawn at a Women’s Bible Study Fellowship not realizing you and Ron worked together. Until Ron and I delivered food to all the employees after hurricane Andrew and Dawn said to me I know we have met before. It is so beautiful how God brings people into our lives. I am so grateful for the friendship and good times Ron and I had with you and your family. Dawn and I will continue being with each other and remembering those special times. Carlos you and Ron keep praying for us until we meet again. Love You, Luane. Xoxoxo

Carlos
A Neigbor & friend , I will miss our talks about our families and sharing handyman tips on things around the house. Ill always remember after a hurricane when we had to sit in our cars on our drives just to get some A/C and would send texts complaining and that we would definitely get a generator for the next season , and you did , but I think it took a few more storms to come thru first !
We will miss you dear friend

Carlos,

Even though our we didn't stay in touch over the years you were always in my heart! You were my best at work bud starting May 5th 1991 for years until you left to Customs. I was wishing I spoke better Spanish and could tag along! You were always so encouraging. Even though you were only 12 years older you were a father figure. Your sense of humor made me smile every day! I was just getting married and remembered all the beautiful stories you shared about Dawn and your family. It was very inspiring. I know you have left a wonderful legacy to so many and I'm glad we were friends.
