A Florida native, Carol was born and raised in West Palm Beach, FL where she graduated from Palm Beach High in 1964 and attended Palm Beach Junior College where she earned her RN degree in 1968. She worked on the medical surgical unit at Good Samaritan Hospital as a charge nurse and then for 10 years in plastic surgery and dermatology.
One of Carol’s greatest passions was sewing. She taught herself how to sew when she lived in the Bahamas in the late 1960s. That turned into a big talent for Carol as she enjoyed making dresses, bows and costumes for her daughters and later in life she enjoyed quilting, embroidery, smocking, knitting and needlepoint, she even devoted time to creating and donating dresses and clothing to the homeless.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald E. Kairalla; her daughter, Catherine Kairalla; her father, Gilbert Scutti and her mother, Ida Scutti.
She is survived by her children, Mark Kairalla (Krissy), Scott Kairalla (Joy), Kimberly Monakee (Chad), and Amy Jacobson (Keith); as well as her 14 grandchildren, Reid, Emily, Ashleigh, Scotty, Austin, Hudson, Axl, Lyda Belle, Beau, Luke, Max, Paulina, Cannon and Emery.
Carol will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. Please join us for a celebration of life mass at St. Clare’s Catholic Church on Monday, October 9th at 11am.
