Charles Douglas Joseph “Joe” Lafferty was 94 years old. He was born in Rochester, Pennsylvania on March 27, 1930. Graduated from Rochester High School, and continued to the University of Pittsburg earning a B.A. in advertising and journalism. After joining the U.S. Marine Corp in 1948, he received honorable discharges in 1950 and 1954.
He was Chairman of the Board in advertising newspaper research with Branham newspaper in New York City.
Joe was a glider plane pilot. He also enjoyed sailing, reading, writing, and photography.
He is survived by his wife, Diane, a niece, Chris Reel, as well as her son, Brian Reel (a great-nephew), two step-daughters (Jessica Phillips and Victoria Loverchio), and his fur-baby, Tuxedo.
Memorial donations to veterans’ associations, and to Alzheimer’s and cancer research are greatly appreciated.
A memorial mass for Charles will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St Mark's Episcopal Church, 3395 Burns Road, Palm Beach Gardens, Fl 33410. Following the memorial mass will be a committal service from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 FL-7, Wellington, FL 33449.
