Charles Nathan Poor

Charles Nathan “Charlie” Poor passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the age of 79, surrounded by the love of his family. To Carol and those closest to him, he was known simply as “Nate.”

Born on May 17, 1947, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Charlie graduated from St. John's Preparatory School and attended Merrimack College before beginning his career at FMC Corporation.

Charlie married the love of his life and teenage sweetheart, Carol. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. This fall, they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, a remarkable milestone reflecting a lifetime of love, partnership, and devotion to one another.

Charlie later returned home to take the helm of Town Printing, the company founded by his father-in-law, Patrick “Pat” Bissonnette. Through hard work, vision, and determination, he grew the family business into Flagship Press, one of New England's most respected commercial printing companies, expanding it to include BIGraphics in New Hampshire and Topdeck in Connecticut. An old-school businessman, Charlie believed a handshake mattered, your word was your bond, and respect was earned through honesty and hard work. Those who worked for him often said he felt more like family than an employer. He devoted more than five decades to the printing industry before retiring in recent years.

Over the course of their marriage, Charlie and Carol made more than 30 houses into homes, creating lasting memories throughout the North Shore of Massachusetts and New Hampshire, as well as in Jupiter, Florida, which served as their seasonal home for many years before they recently settled there full time. Charlie especially loved lake life, boating with family and friends, and playing golf. He and Carol also shared a love of travel and adventure, exploring the world together and creating lifelong memories.

Above all, Charlie's greatest pride was his family. He was a devoted husband, proud father and Papa, brother, uncle, and loyal friend. Nothing brought him more joy than having everyone together. Those who knew him will remember his integrity, loyalty, generous spirit, and the way he worked hard, loved deeply, and always stood by his word.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Carol Poor; his three sons, Jeffrey Poor and his wife, Kathleen of North Andover, Massachusetts; Christopher Poor and his wife Renee of Andover, Massachusetts; and Gregory Poor and his wife Corinne of Jupiter, Florida. He was the proud Papa of Ryan Poor of North Reading, Massachusetts; Kaitlin Gravina and her husband Daniel of Newburyport, Massachusetts; Lauren Poor of North Andover, Massachusetts; Charles Poor II and Giselle Poor both of Andover, Massachusetts; and Cameron Poor and Tanner Poor of Jupiter, Florida.

He is also survived by his brother, James Poor and his wife, Eleanor, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts; his sister, Susan Daily of Burlington, Vermont; and many cherished brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

Charlie was predeceased by his parents, James and Mary Poor of North Andover, Massachusetts, and by his beloved in-laws, Patrick “Pat” Bissonnette and Pauline Bissonnette of Salisbury, Massachusetts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael Parish in North Andover, Massachusetts, followed by entombment at the St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Chapel Mausoleum in Methuen, Massachusetts.

Charlie was a generous and longstanding supporter of Els for Autism and Autism Project of Palm Beach County, two organizations especially meaningful to him because of his grandson, Tanner. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Charlie's memory to the Els for Autism Foundation, supporting individuals with autism and their families.
