Claire Emily Blaze

Born on October 31st, 1929, to Martha & Henry Butterworth. She spent summers with her parents and sister, Marge at the Jersey Shore while growing up in New Jersey.

Claire is predeceased by her son, Robert, who was her pride and joy. She is survived by her four daughters: Kathleen, Marianne, Jeanne and Patricia, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, her loving daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, her cousin Carol, and her three nieces: Kathy, Susan and Barbara, who brought her great joy.

Claire raised her five children in Maplewood New Jersey. She worked as a secretary and enjoyed vacations on Long Beach Island NJ; one of her favorite places in the world. She retired to The Little Club community in Tequesta, Florida at the age of 65, where she enjoyed golf, swimming, theatre in Palm Beach, and enjoyed time with many of her friends enjoying the good life! She was an excellent baker, and every year she would bake 25 different Christmas cookies starting on December 1st all the way up until Christmas and shared them at a holiday tea party with all her guests.

A funeral mass will be held at Saint Christopher Catholic Church in Hobe Sound, Florida on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, at 10:30AM.
