Dorie Kennedy passed from us at home in hospice care the 15th of June, after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Her adoring husband, Ron, and amazing daughter, Cammie, shepherded her during her final journey; family and friends provided loving support. Dorie was born in 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan, graduated from Michigan State University, and lived and raised her three daughters in Okemos, Michigan. She moved to Palm Beach Gardens (PGA National) in 1982. Florida suited her active, outdoor lifestyle…tennis was her favorite sport along with Scuba diving and skiing. She and her husband, a Californian, met skiing in Vail and parted only by death. They evaded Florida summers by spending them in Coronado by the Pacific, skied in Colorado, Utah or California and made an annual pilgrimage to Grand Cayman. It was a grand life, ended much too soon. Dorie was a beautiful lady loved and admired by everyone fortunate enough to know her for her genuine warmth and positive outlook. The world was brighter when she was in it. She is survived by Ron, three daughters: Cammie Williams of Lake Worth, Katherine Allman of Okemos, MI, Kimberly Clark, of Redmond, OR, and five grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, at 10:00am, at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center.
