David Clinton Smith

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father David C. Smith on October 28, 2024, at the age of 89 at his home in Jupiter, Florida where he was surrounded by family and loved ones.

David was born on August 9, 1935 in Williamsport, Pa., to Walter and Marie Smith. David grew up in Roselle Park, NJ where he met the love of his life and beloved wife, Linda of 67 years.

David was known for his love of family, his strong will and family dedication, but also for his lifelong commitment to his country where he proudly served in the United States Navy from 1954 until 1997.

Upon retiring from active duty, David worked as an Electrical Engineer at Pratt & Whitney where he tested jet engines for U.S. defense fighter aircraft. In his spare time, David was an avid boat captain and an accomplished pilot.

David is survived by his wife Linda, his children Donna, Dara and David. David was also the proud grandfather of six children and the great grandfather of 12 great grandchildren.

Private funeral services are under the direction of Aycock Funeral Home, Jupiter, Florida and will held on November 6th at 3:30 P.M. David’s final resting place will be at South Florida VA National Cemetery in Lake Worth Florida, FL where he will receive a military burial on November 7th, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.
