Doris Varieur

Doris (Levesque) Varieur, 98 years old, of Stuart, FL, formerly of Woonsocket, RI, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026. Doris was born April 2, 1927, in Woonsocket, RI to the late Albert and Florida (Brunelle) Levesque. On August 16, 1947, she married Normand Varieur with whom she enjoyed 67 beautiful years. She is predeceased by four sisters; Blanche Laplante, Florence LeBlanc, Florida Beaudette, and Alice Duquette, and three brothers; René, Albert, and Arthur Levesque.

Family was central to Doris’ life, and she was the center of her family. She and Normand may have lived all-over, but home was always where they were. In addition to traveling and regular visits with her family, Doris loved to host friends and laugh with loved ones. She was a formidable domino & mahjong player, loved bingo, puzzles, and had a discerning nose for a lucky slot machine. Her life in Cape Cod, particularly in the summers, was something she cherished and enjoyed dearly. Her children and grandchildren are filled with fond memories of visiting “Mémère” at her house in Centerville, MA to enjoy the beach, lobster, steamers, penny candy, and fight over who got to be her Canasta partner. After enduring many New England and Midwest winters, Doris and Normand moved to Florida where she enjoyed close proximity to many of her siblings and children.

She is survived by her children: Janet (Varieur) Jaffke (James), Normand Varieur (Susan), Raymond Varieur (Tammie) along with eight grandchildren; Jacob, Jessica, Raymond, Melissa, Ashley, Amber, Aimée, and Jennifer, as well as eight great-grandchildren; Shelby, Olivia, Jaina, Mara, Adélise, August, Ella, and Jack. She is predeceased by her daughter, Denise Varieur.

Her viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 9am-10am at Aycock/Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458. At 11:00am a Catholic service will be held at St Joseph Church, 1200 E 10th St, Stuart, FL 34996 and burial to follow at 1:00pm in Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 SE County Line Rd., Tequesta, FL 33469.
