

Dorothy Dale Junger Nittolo (DeeDee), 78, of Jupiter, Florida passed away peacefully July 2, 2023. DeeDee grew up in Long Island, New York. She was born to Henry George Junger and Dorothy Mildred Gillingham Junger on April 30, 1945. DeeDee graduated from Huntington High School in 1962 and continued her education to receive her associate degree at Cazenovia College in 1964. In 1998, she went on to receive her bachelor’s degree at Palm Beach Atlantic University.
DeeDee moved to Florida with her parents in 1964. She later raised a family in Jupiter, Florida. DeeDee met and married her soulmate, Ralph Nittolo Sr., in 1988. They were married for many happy years.
DeeDee committed her life’s work to the education system of Palm Beach County Public Schools, spending many years working in the offices of local schools, such as Palm Beach Gardens High School and Jupiter Community High School. She then moved to the district level for many years. She retired in 2008.
DeeDee enjoyed retirement in all of its glory. She loved to play golf with her husband, travel, and spend time spoiling her grandchildren. DeeDee was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an avid reader and enjoyed being outside, either walking around her neighborhood, working in the yard, or swimming in the pool. DeeDee was a breast cancer survivor and enjoyed completing the Race for the Cure for many years.
DeeDee is survived by her children, Kimberly Cato Ficker and Robert Cato Jr., her grandchildren, Elizabeth Ficker Edwards (Kenny) and Benjamin Ficker, and great-granddaughter, Olivia Edwards. She is also survived by her brother Ronald Junger (Penny) and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Nittolo Sr., son-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Ficker Jr., and her parents, Henry and Dorothy Junger.
Family will receive guests on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 starting at 10 am until 2 pm. A memorial service will begin at 11 am at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, Florida. Private interment will occur after the service at Riverside Memorial Park, Tequesta, Florida.
