

Edwin (“Jack”) Frost, age 88, of Jupiter, Florida passed away on July 22,2015. Jack was born on December 12, 1926 in Brookville, Pennsylvania to the late Wilbur and Mina Frost. Jack was raised on a farm in a rural area, getting most of his early education in a one room schoolhouse. A brilliant student, he graduated from Brookville High School and was enrolled in Penn State University at the age of 15. At the time, each Pennsylvania senator was allowed to offer one university scholarship and Jack was awarded one of them. His education was interrupted by the war and he served in the merchant marine and the United States Army before returning to Penn State to complete his degree in aeronautical engineering.
He married Marjorie Wright Frost, the love of his life, in 1947. They lived in Windsor, Connecticut where Jack worked for Pratt & Whitney before moving to New Jersey where he held numerous engineering positions with the BG Corporation. Jack and Marjorie lived in Oradell where they raised their 5 children and were active in many community organizations. Jack founded The BG Service Company in 1964 in the basement of their home. The company eventually became a leading manufacturer of industrial ignition equipment and was relocated to West Palm Beach in 1977, where Jack served as Chairman at the time of his death.
Jack was an adventurer who loved camping and travelling, especially with his family. He was an avid golfer and skier and will be remembered for his fairness and kindness to all, regardless of their station in life, having never forgotten his humble beginnings.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie, son Jerry, sister Hettie Shingledecker, and brother Glenn. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Janet Green and son-in-law Steve; son John and daughter-in-law Mary; son Jim and daughter-in-law Maaret; and son Robert. He is also survived by 5 loving grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Jack will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews and many friends from the Turtle Creek and Hackensack Golf Clubs.
The visitation will be held at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL at 12 Noon on Saturday, July 25, 2015 with a Funeral Service starting at 1:00pm. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County.
