Vou sentir falta do seu sorriso, da sua risada e de seus abraços bem apertados que chega me tiravam o ar. Da sua felicidade em presentear e agradar ao próximo e do seu amor maternal.
​Me lembro de quando você e tia Ilze chegavam dos Estados Unidos com presentes. Ficava ansioso esperando as boas novas, mas só, de acordo com a minha avó, após o descanso da viagem. "São muitas horas de viagem, menino! Deixa ela descansar". E eu escutava o ronco sonolento da senhora torcendo para você acordar.
​Agora, gosto de imaginar que, encontrando os seus parentes no céu, leva as boas novas da família, vai falar do companheirismo de maninho e maninha, dos seus sobrinhos queridos e contar de seus sobrinhos netos brincando na casa de tia Sonya. 
Bivô Othoniel e bivó Francisquinha vão estar ansiosos, mas não antes da senhora descansar após a longa viagem.

Today we gather to give thanks for the life of Aunt Clide, whom God allowed us to have for almost ninety years.

She was a strong woman — the kind who faces life head-on, unshaken by hardship, and who leaves that as a legacy for those who remain. I had the privilege of having a close, good relationship with her, and I know that everyone who knew her carries that same memory: someone who was an example — of character, of faith, of firmness.

We are not here to mourn a loss, but to give thanks for everything she represented. As 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says: "In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God." And that is what we do today: we thank God for the life of Aunt Clide, for the almost ninety years she lived, for the example she left behind.

May we honor her memory by following that example.

I admired Francis long before I married her niece, Danielle. I knew her through work, and even then, what stood out to me was her joyful spirit and the way her happiness touched everyone around her.
Later, when I became part of the family, I had the opportunity to see another beautiful side of her: the love and affection she had for her family, especially for all her nieces and nephews. Her warmth, generosity, and joy were always present in the way she cared for those she loved.
I feel fortunate to have known Francis both as a colleague and as family. The wonderful memories we shared will remain with me, always remembered with great affection.

Tia Clide was always a very important presence in my life. Even though she lived far away from Brazil, distance never changed the close bond we shared.

She was such a loving and important part of my childhood. I have such fond memories of her taking pictures of my sister and me and then carefully putting together albums for us, always adding funny little captions that made them even more special. Those albums captured not only moments from our childhood, but also her sense of humor, her affection, and the joy she brought into our lives.

I will always remember her big smile, her generous heart, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her. She was someone very special to me, and I feel incredibly grateful for all the love, affection, and memories we shared throughout the years.

I will miss her deeply, but I know that her love and the beautiful memories she left behind will always remain with me.

Today you would have turned 90, but God, in His infinite love, had already prepared, from all eternity, that this “Happy Birthday” would be sung together with Him.

Clide, it was truly a blessing to have known you and to have loved you as a sister. I always admired your courage, determination, intellectual ability, ease in making friends, and your dedication to the work of the Lord.

I remember that on Sunday afternoons, you and Ilze would travel to the small towns near Garanhuns to share the Word of God with the local residents.

You also distinguished yourself as a teacher at Quinze de Novembro School, where you had once been a student, and at the Federal University of Pernambuco. Your passing has been remembered with great sorrow and affection by your former students.

You also experienced something that testified to God’s providential care in your life: when you were over 50 years old, you fulfilled your dream of marrying an honorable man, Wilbur Hurt, who loved you deeply. And you were happy together.

Dear Clide, we are saddened, but comforted by the grace of God. His Word says:

“Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death.”
Isaiah 57:2

My dear sister, Francis Clide,

How painful it was to hear that you had left this world and gone into Eternity\.

We remember, with profound longing, our life together at home, during our childhood, at school, at church, and later in adulthood, when each of us followed our own path\. Yet throughout all those moments, there was always love, unity, understanding, and the certainty that one day we will all—father, mother, brothers, wives, and husbands—be together again with our Heavenly Father, in true and eternal joy\.

Psalm 116:15 says: **“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.”**

To my dear Aunt and second Mother Francis Clide Gueiros Hurt,
Today, my heart is filled with longing, but also with deep gratitude to God for your life.
For ten months, I had the privilege of living with you in the United States. During that time, you were not just my aunt. You welcomed me, cared for me, taught me, protected me, and loved me like a true mother.
I carry with me every gesture of kindness, every word, and every memory. These are moments that time will never be able to erase.
Today we say goodbye with tears in our eyes, but also with the hope that comes from our faith. We know that death is not the end for those who believe in Christ, for we have the promise of eternal life.
Tia Clide, thank you so much for everything. Thank you for being so special to me and for loving me like a son.
The longing will last forever, but so will the love.
May God comfort our entire family and give us strength in this moment of sorrow.
Until we meet again, my dear aunt. I will love you forever.
