Born on April 22, 1934, in East Wamac, Illinois, Freddie was the son of Charlie and Gladys Talbott. His early years were not always easy, but the challenges of his childhood helped shape the hardworking, determined, and resilient man he would become.
In 1952, at just 18 years old, Freddie proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving his country for seven years. During his military service, he was stationed in Guam, where he worked in military communications, transmitting and receiving messages using Morse code. His experiences in the military provided him with a lifetime of memories and stories that he loved sharing with family and friends.
In September 1955, Freddie met the love of his life, Dianna, at a park in Denver, Colorado. Just a few months later, on December 10, 1955, they were married, beginning a beautiful love story that would span 71 years together. Their marriage was built on love, commitment, and a devotion to one another that endured through life's many seasons.
More than 56 years ago, Freddie founded a family painting business built on hard work, determination, and pride in a job well done.
The business was later carried on by his son and eventually his grandson, who expanded it into what is known today as Talbott Companies. What began as one man's dedication to providing for his family has grown into a lasting, three-generation family legacy that continues to thrive today.
Freddie was known for his wonderful sense of humor and his gift for storytelling. He loved sharing tales of his childhood, his adventures in the military, and the many experiences that shaped his remarkable life. Even stories of difficult times were often told with humor and perspective, leaving those around him laughing, listening, and wanting to hear more.
Freddie's greatest accomplishments were not simply measured by the business he built or the years he served his country, but by the family he raised, the love he gave, and the memories he created.
Freddie is survived by his beloved wife, Dianna, with whom he shared 71 years together; their four sons, Donald, Steven, Kenny, and Martin; his daughter-in-law, Susan, who held a special place in his heart; and his cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
Though Freddie will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on in the family he loved the business he built, and the countless stories that will continue to be shared for generations to come.
A life built on hard work, filled with laughter, and blessed with a love that lasted a lifetime.
